Dec. 7th, 2024 - Landscape


In this iteration of the project, I wanted to convey  a simple story. You wake up in your bunker (some sort of cryo-sleep I haven't figured out yet) to realize that a new civilization has blossomed on the very ground you sleep under.

To accomplish this, I've created a few different paint/ texture layers on the landscape including : arid sand, stone, and grass textures as well as a cobblestone path texture.

As far as the foliage is concerned, I chose assets that, despite being near a water source, make the world seem like it might not be doing well in terms of livability. It was through this process that I learned that the brush density's default of .5 WILL add around 4k trees  in whatever area you deign to click.

The foliage along with some choice rock placements, in my unprofessional opinion, help sell the real-world feel (even if the illusion is broken by the blatant placeholder housing.
